Glastonbury ‘94.

Interviewer: If there was an act you were forced to send a Valentine’s card to, who would it be?

Noel: An act… Liam Gallagher’s a pretty good act to give a Valentine’s card to, I think.

Interviewer: I think that’s frowned upon by many cultures, Noel, but I admire you for your pluck.

Noel: … It’s not a Mancunian culture, but… well… I’m in London now, aren’t I?

Noel about Liam: ‘I’ve kind of learnt that instead of arguing stuff out with him and ending up in a fight, I work on his psychology and he’s completely freaked out by me now. He’s actually frightened to death of me. I can read him and I can fucking play him like a slightly disused arcade game. I can make him make decisions that he thinks are his but really they’re mine. Without fighting. It’s an art I’ve learned’.

Spin, 2005

"Suddenly the musical dust settled and the band strode magnificently into “D’You Know What I Mean?”.
As his voice filled the studio, attacked us from all angles, Liam walked forward to stand by his brother and listen hard. Noel turned and smiled. Then he put his arm around his younger brother and the pair of them spontaneously started dancing and laughing at this thing they had achieved."
